Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) over the years has become an integral part of the companies worldwide. Scope of CSR has been revolving over the years, and now it have been defined as the activities those helps the society in and around of the company. Alongside the contributions to the society, CSR would benefit the company.
This year, CEMS-Global celebrated the 16th anniversary of Textech with the organizing of the `16th Textech Bangladesh 2015 International Expo’, `9th Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show 2015’ and “22nd Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2015 Expo”, showcasing Textile & Garment Machinery, Accessories, Dyes & Chemicals, International Yarn & Fabric Manufacturers; focused to the entire Textile & Garment world but also to the entire Export sector of Bangladesh.
A 16-member team of researchers from BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) made an exposure visit to Sri Lanka from 27th March to 3rd April, 2016 as a part of the Netherlands Initiative for Capacity Development in Higher Education (NICHE) project.

CSR, the corporate buzzword of the recent decade in Bangladesh, still needs to go a long way in mitigating the major gap that exists between its concept and practice. Over time, CSR has stylishly transformed itself from its traditional definition of “Corporate Social Responsibility” to a means of ‘Sustainability’. While attending a seminar titled ‘Development through CSR in Bangladesh’ organised by the Donor Liaison Office of BRAC in May 2016, I came across some interesting facts about the changing landscape of CSR practice in Bangladesh.
